While the name Aviva is fairly new, our roots go back more than 300 years, making us the oldest continuously operating insurance group in the world.

Aviva companies have been involved in insuring many historic figures, from Sir Isaac Newton to John F. Kennedy, and paying claims after historic events, such as the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the sinking of the Titantic.
